FlightElite 2.2.0: A Fresh Design, 400+ Liveries and Smarter Disruption Tools
What's New in FlightElite 2.2.0
FlightElite 2.2.0 makes live flight information easier to scan and more useful when travel does not go to plan. The release combines a fresh interface with deeper weather context, clearer flight progress, and a faster way to find alternatives after a cancellation or diversion.
A Fresh, Modern Design
The redesigned experience uses a cleaner visual hierarchy so the details that matter now are easier to find. Upcoming trips, live status, gates, and progress can be scanned more quickly without losing the depth frequent travelers expect.
This is not just a cosmetic update. The design is built around the moments when travelers need answers quickly: approaching departure, responding to a gate change, checking an inbound aircraft, or working out what happened after disruption.
More Than 400 Aircraft Liveries
FlightElite now includes over 400 airline aircraft liveries. The expanded library makes aircraft on the map and throughout the app more representative of the airlines operating them.
Liveries do not change the underlying tracking data, but they make it easier to recognize an airline at a glance and give the live map a richer, more faithful visual identity.
Smarter Time-Sensitive Notifications
Notifications now focus more clearly on when information becomes useful. FlightElite can alert you to:
- Schedule and gate changes
- Important moments before departure and arrival
- Inbound aircraft progress
- Changes that affect the next step in your journey
Time-sensitive delivery helps important travel updates stand out without turning every data refresh into noise.
Global Weather and Turbulence Context
The flight map now brings worldwide clouds, precipitation, and turbulence context into the journey view. Instead of checking a generic forecast separately, you can understand how conditions relate to the route, departure, and destination.
Weather layers provide context rather than guarantees. Airlines, pilots, dispatchers, and air traffic control use additional operational products when making decisions. Read our flight weather and turbulence map guide for a practical explanation.
Clearer Flight Progress and Live Activities
Flight progress now communicates each stage more clearly, including:
- Gate departure
- Taxiing
- Takeoff
- In-flight progress
- Landing
- Gate arrival
Enhanced Live Activities bring those phases to the Lock Screen so you can understand what is happening without repeatedly opening the app. Inbound-aircraft updates also help explain possible knock-on delays before your own flight departs.
Alternate Flights After a Cancellation or Diversion
When a flight is cancelled or diverted, the first practical question is often: what can I take instead?
FlightElite can now surface other flights operating after yours. This gives you a quicker view of possible alternatives while you speak with the airline or rebook. Availability, eligibility, and ticket changes remain controlled by the airline, but knowing the relevant flight options can make that conversation faster.
Built for the Whole Journey
Version 2.2.0 connects planning, live tracking, and disruption recovery in one release. The new design helps you scan faster, weather and turbulence add context, richer flight phases explain progress, and alternate flights help you act when plans change.
